UF ranked No. 1 party school  - Gainesville Sun article published on Monday, July 28, 2008

From Nancy D: I remember the year before my freshman year, UF was voted #1 party school in the country by Playboy magazine. The following year, we were not even included in the list, but there was an asterisk

As I drove home, I thought of so many moments that were special during our short time together. Mostly, I hope the current collegiates we met were inspired to continue the bond and stay in touch post college. How amazing is it that people can not see or talk to each other for 20+ years and then pick up from where they left off within moments? Thank you for the many people who organized and led us throughout this time. YOU ARE APPRECIATED.

Kisses to all. Hey - where are my beads for the "flashing"?

Riva M. Newton, M.Ed.

Dear Everyone,

Thank you so much for such a beautiful weekend! Nancy, Leslie and I may have organized the event, but you all brought the magic! Thanks to all of you for making this weekend happen and especially to Debbie Wilhelm Roberts for the early morning bagel runs and for being our cheerleader!!!

And, to think that even the collegians think we're cool is beyond my wildest dreams!!

You all are welcome to visit me in Jacksonville because I need someone to sit in my back hall and sing dirty songs with until 3am or so!

I'm working on the contact list, if you didn't get the chance to sign the index card, just email me your name, address, phone number, email address, occupation and any other information that you want to include.

I hope that we all stay in touch. Priscilla is already working on a Jacksonville Gamma Iota girl's night out! And, no more black holes for you,  Groben! Riva and Landsberg - no more flashing (at least until the next reunion)!!

Thank you all again, I've never been prouder to be an Alpha Chi . . .

LITB,

Susan Collet Thresher

Ladies,

Thanks for an amazing reunion! I hope that we do it again soon.

I thought that you would get a kick out of what my Mom told me on Sunday. She said that when she came over to the house on Saturday it was as if we were all teenagers again and that she wasn't approaching 80.

LITB,
Kay Henderson

Ladies -

Who was with the Magazine that made Gainesville the #1 party school for this year?....
Wow....tacky tourist must have put the rest over the top!!! I guess we haven't lost the touch....I believe we had that distinction when we were in G'ville many moons ago!!!! Consistency Rules!!!!!

Yes...Linda the Tailgate tracker is something the magazine would expect of the #1 party school!!!

Go Gators!!!!

LITB,
Dana Lee Csutoros

----------------------------------------------------------------------

WOW!!!!! Could not have asked for more fun.......Leslie, Susan and Nancy.... you all were awesome.......yes, Debbie being the coordinator of dinner and being a huge cheerleader/tour guide for the group was totally cool........yes....the magic of any event is all who attend because without each of us...we wouldn't have had the experience!!!!!!

It was fun to hear where 25 plus years have take each of us....and yes...ladies.... we still have it for pulling - almost all nighters...and only drinking "juice" !!!! Linda and Susan have already started that wonderful list of scoop and Suzi....(which you will always be to us)...with posting all the pictures....great!

So...Pricillia and Peggy and others are going to have get together...so...let us all know because - one just never knows where our lives takes us and could show up...yes...for more stories... or were they lies???

Betty P and I had a little extra fun in Orlando on the way home...a little shopping ...then back to reality....loved the reflection and the chance to see that each have achieved great things with their families, children, friends, career, traveling and even their own health!!!!

Thank you for sharing and looking forward until the next time our paths cross.....

Again..... thank you!!!!! Peace out...with our "new" AXO hand sign.....

...In the Bond.....

Hello Sistahs!

I'm still smiling and tearing up when I try to explain our reunion to family and friends.

I feel like I was given the gift of time travel. I never thought I would ever get back to the UF campus or AX house again, because I no longer have family in Florida.

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I'd be sleeping in Suite 3 again with my former room-mates and Pledge Mom and giggling and singing dirty songs and reminiscing in the back hall until the wee hours of the morning. Again.

Of course our talks have changed from cute boys and classes, to our children, husbands, parents and bone density, but it was, truly, as if time had stood still and the conversations picked up mid-sentence.

The longer we were together, the younger everyone looked. As the familiarity of faces, gestures and mannerisms presented themselves, the years melted away. It was surreal.
We were all 20 years old again. Carefree, silly and living competely in the moment. What a gift.

Thank you all for giving me a memory I will cherish forever.

AX Love,
Lori Ogilvie Thomas

I can't stop telling everyone about what a great time we had at the reunion. It was truly such a special time and thanks to all who made it possible.

What a great group of collegians! It was fun to be with them and see what great girls are in the chapter now.

Thanks for all the photos so far. I'm going to try to get mine posted soon.

Love to you all,
Janie

The University of Florida is the nationtop party school, completing a rise in the Princeton Review rankings that coincided with efforts to reduce alcohol abuse.

The No. 1 party school ranking appears in the 2009 edition of the review rankings are based on survey results from about 120,000 students at 368 colleges.

UF President Bernie Machen said the university has an interesting mix of students who study hard during the week but like to have a good time on weekends.
